Spore: Will Wright’s Masterpiece?

Coming in September is an exciting new project from the mind behind the Sims. Spore is Will Wright’s newest venture into the gaming world and it boasts unheard of user generation and control. The player will take control of a species from a single cell organism up to a space-faring race. Along the way, the player will dictate how the species evolves using the creature editor interface. Based on the player’s decisions, the computer will discern how the species acts. This includes whether or not the creatures will be carnivores or omnivores; how the creature will eat; what the creatures will sound like when they communicate; etc. As a bonus, when the players’ species achieves space going capabilities, they can then explore the cosmos and other planets. The truly stunning part of this feature is that the planets the player is exploring will be populated with other players’ creations. As each new player creates a world and creatures to inhabit that world, their computer will update Spore’s servers with that information that will then be shared with every other players’ game. How the logistics of this will play out remains to be seen, but the footage that has been released so far makes one’s mouth salivate with anticipation. Click the link to check out some of these videos for more proof and then feel free to share your own views and dreams of this highly awaited game. Read more about Spore: Will Wright’s Masterpiece?

Lego Two-Face Revealed

Lego Batman is slated for release later this year. I would be lying if I said that we here at Figures and More are not excited about this game. We were all big fans of the Lego Star Wars games and are really looking forward to fighting crime in the block-ridden city of Gotham. In light of that attitude towards this game, we were very happy to see that Two-Face has been revealed in all his Lego glory. While this character design may not be as creepy or demented as the one that will be seen in the upcoming Dark Knight movie, we are still very impressed. Take a look at the screen shots and the new trailer and let us know what you think. Are you as excited as us?
