Michael Phelps makes Olympic History with 8 Gold Medals!

Most of them came very late at night, in extremely close nail-biting races, often decided by one one-hundreth of a second. However, all the drama is over now and all that remains is the legacy. Michael Phelps came to Beijing looking to make Olympic history by breaking Mark Spitz’s record of 7 Gold Medals in a single Olympics. By the end of the 4x100m relay on Saturday, Phelps had become the most decorated athlete in Olympic history. Congratulations to Michael Phelps, who will be on the cover of this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated.
