The events of Batman R.I.P. and Final Crisis have left the Bat-Family shaken to the core and Gotham City has descended into chaos without it’s protector.

Now, the battle to replace Bruce Wayne has begun. The entire Bat-Family will join together to combat the criminal crisis in Gotham. Behind the scenes however, the battle to determine the heir to the cowl of Batman will take place. Meanwhile, the criminal element in Gotham begins to take liberties as news of the demise of Batman spreads through the Underworld. At the end of Battle for the Cowl, a new Dark Knight will emerge, but at what cost? And, more importantly, who will win the Battle for the Cowl?
