TOY FAIR 2010: TECHNO SOURCE

Next up from Toy Fair is one of my favorite companies, Techno Source. A couple of years ago, Techno Source introduced the absolutely addictive Rubik’s Revolution, a brand new take on the classic puzzle. I got one for Christmas that year, and I am still playing with it! Last year, they introduced the Rubik’s Touch Cube, a fully electronic, solvable Rubik’s Cube, which blew me away. This year they have returned with a new Rubik’s puzzle and an intriguing new board game. Here’s what we saw from Techno Source.

Rubik’s Slide: This is the new Rubik’s product for this year and, I can tell you, it is every bit as addictive as the previous ones have been. The judge for that round draws a picture card and players must quickly try to match the funniest caption they have to the picture. The player who makes the judge laugh the most wins that round! Perfect for a small group of three or as many as eight players, each game includes 150 funny pictures (75 double-sided 4”x 6” cards) and 300 hilarious caption cards that provide for hours upon hours of game play. This is a real winner and should become a huge party game. The additional ability to use your own pictures and write your own captions adds a lot of replay value.
