Toy Fair 2011 continues at Hasbro as we turn our focus to Marvel. This year, the Avengers will begin to assemble on store shelves and your shelves. The Iron Man line will continue on store shelves and he will be joined this year by the movie tie-in lines for Captain America: the First Avenger and Thor. Hasbro plans a diverse line, catering to several different age brackets. In addition, the Marvel Universe line will continue, with new figures and comic two-packs slated for release. In addition, the follow-up to the wildly successful Galactus extra-sized figure will be released. It is the Mutant-hunting robot: The Sentinel. Here’s the lo-down for Marvel.
In 2011, Hasbro gives kids more ways than ever to re-enact the actions of their favorite Marvel Super Heroes with an extensive line of role play toys! MARVEL STUDIOS brings action and excitement to the theater with THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and Hasbro brings the adventure, energy, and emotion from the films “to life” with a full array of toys that will immerse kids in the character experience. In addition, role-play toys in the IRON MAN and SPIDER-MAN lines will have kids powering up and web-slinging throughout the year.
First up is THOR, which lands in theaters this May. Kids can re-enact the Asgardian’s thunderous actions using Hasbro’s THOR LIGHTNING HAMMER featuring lights, sounds and a launching projectile. Additional role-play items — such as THOR’S HELMET, FOAM SWORD, SHIELD and SWORD, and FOAM HAMMER — allow kids to complete the THOR character experience. Kids and collectors alike will feast on Hasbro’s line of THOR 3.75” Action Figures that includes heroes and villains such as THOR, ODIN, LOKI, FROST GIANT and THE DESTROYER.
Then in July, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER storms theatres nationwide. Hasbro’s accompanying toy line stars the CAPTAIN AMERICA DISC LAUNCHING SHIELD that fires foam disks to defend against combatants. A CAPTAIN AMERICA HERO MASK and CAPTAIN AMERICA THROWING SHIELD round out the role-play gear that can be used when “fighting for justice.” For kids and collectors who wish to hold the movie’s action in their hands, Hasbro is introducing a line of CAPTAIN AMERICA 3.75” Action Figures featuring various versions of THE FIRST AVENGER, as well as his adversaries including RED SKULL and HYDRA SOLDIERS.
Hasbro re-imagines its IRON MAN toy line in 2011 with the ARMOR CHARGE IRON MAN and ARMOR CHARGE WAR MACHINE – 7” motorized, walking figures. Also new this year is a line of IRON MAN 6” Action Figures to join the wildly popular IRON MAN 3.75” Action Figure assortment.
In addition, MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN continues to be one of the most popular Super Heroes in the world — and a favorite among Moms. New innovative SPIDER-MAN toys swing into the toy aisle in 2011, including the SPIDER-MAN WEB STRING SHOOTER, which includes a motorized string reload function for hours of play, and the SPIDER-MAN ALL MISSION RACER, a vehicle that features racer, hovercraft, motorcycle, jet, and glider modes! And finally, Hasbro’s popular MARVEL UNIVERSE 3.75” Action Figures line continues to take collectors deep within the pages of MARVEL COMICS.
