This line, designed for advanced builders, sports advanced features, such as gears, pulleys and even pneumatics. All models also include instructions for 2-in-1 models. There were two models shown at Toy Fair. Both are due for release in August

Minecraft

Easily one of the biggest properties in the world, the “little game that could” shows no signs of losing momentum any time soon. 4 more sets are planned for August. Here’s what LEGO has planned for one of their most popular themes.

  • 21119 – The Dungeon – 219 pcs – $19.99
  • 21120 – The Snow Hideout – 327 pcs – $34.99
  • 21121 – The Desert Outpost – 519 pcs – $59.99
  • 21122 – The Nether Fortress – 571 pcs – $79.99

All of these sets continue to showcase how perfect a fit LEGO is for this world. Each of these environments perfectly replicates an area seen in the actual game, bringing the experience to life outside the console. These sets will also offer new minifigures to add to your world, including Alex, a Ghast, Zombie Pigman, Blaze and Ice Golem.

Ultra Agents

  • LEGO’s secret agent line continues with new play elements, including an “apptivity” brick that combines real life physical bricks with an app. It is a very cool new system uses brick made from carbon fiber. This time, the theme involves a villain known as AntiMatter. There are two release periods for this theme. March will see the initial wave release, with different sized sets available, including a super cool helicopter. August will see the release of most of the large sized sets, and some of these are really cool.

The March release will consist of 5 sets. They are:

  • 70166 – Spyclops Infiltration – 109 pcs – $9.99
  • 70167 – Invizable Gold Getaway – 237 pcs – $19.99
  • 70168 – Drillex Diamond Job – 312 pcs – $29.99
  • 70169 – Agent Stealth Patrol – 475 pcs – $49.99
  • 70170 – UltraCopter vs. AntiMatter – 614 pcs – $79.99

And then, in August, the final 3 sets will be released.

  • 70171 Ultrasonic Showdown – 187 pcs – $19.99
  • 70172 – AntiMatter’s Portal Hideout – 475 pcs – $69.99
  • 70173 – Ultra Agents Ocean HQ – 1204 pcs – $99.99

You can see by the pictures below just how cool these sets look, tapping into the James Bond vibe, and with the recent release of the Kingsmen movie, this genre is fresh in everyone’s mind. Anyone who has seen the Austin Powers movies can’t help by smile at the fact the the villain’s lair has a portal AND a shark.

LEGO Exclusives

These models are large, impressive and only available at your local LEGO store, or at LEGO.com. Two more of these Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) models are planned this year. They are:

  • 76042 – The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier – 2996 pcs – $349.99 – Available in March
  • 75095 – LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter – 1685 pcs – $199.99 – Available in May

These models speak for themselves. Each has exquisite detail and multiple play features. Of particular note on the absolutely ENORMOUS Helicarrier are the micro-figures that are scale to both the overall model and the smaller quinjets that come with it.
