Toy Fair 2015 Preview: Jakks Pacific

Up next in our Toy Fair Previews is a company very near and dear to my heart, as it is the company responsible for my introduction into the toy media some 16 or so years ago. That company is Jakks Pacific. After a couple of years of uncertainty, Jakks has come roaring back this year, and with some exciting new lines and personnel, I am eager to see what Jakks has in store.

TOY FAIR 2015 Preview: Jakks Pacific

Jakks’ bread and butter over the last year or so has been large scale licensed figures, with the highlight being their amazing 48″ scale figures. Their “large scale” line actually encompasses 21″, 31″ and 48″. These figures represent a variety of popular licenses, including DC Superheroes, Star Wars, TMNT, Power Rangers, Godzilla and, just recently acquired Halo.

Also at the fair from Jakks is the extremely popular “World of Nintendo” line, which consists of 2.5″, 4″, 6″ and even 20″ representations of classic characters such as Mario and Link. New this year are 6″ version of Ganondorf from Wind Waker and the Baby Metroid.

But, by far the most surprising, and exciting, thing we will see at Toy Fair is an old friend in a new role. Scott Neitlich, the “Toy Guru”, has left his long time position at Mattel to become the Boys’ brands manager at Jakks. This should be a really fun briefing.

So, join us for our Jakks Pacific coverage on February 14th.
