Nintendo held a launch party in NYC to celebrate the release of Super Mario 3D Land. Here is an exclusive report on the event.
Mario returns to the third dimension on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo is throwing a launch party in NYC.
To celebrate the game’s release, fans of the series were given an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play inside a life-size recreation of Mario’s world. This amazing set featured giant Piranha Plants, floating coins and ? boxes, a giant pipe slide, a life sized Goomba and a Bullet Bill with a raccoon tail.
Speaking of raccoons, to celebrate the return of fan favorite power-up, the Tanooki Suit, last seen in Super Mario Bros. 3, Nintendo gave out wearable raccoon tails and ears on a first come, first served basis. Sadly, I was not able to get my own set. However, I did get a picture of a very nice Nintendo lady modeling them.
The game looks like another winner from Nintendo. Super Mario 3D Land launches tomorrow, November 13 for the Nintendo 3DS. Expect our full review later in the week.
