Next up at Toy Fair, we visit the “House of Who”, Underground Toys. Underground is responsible for U.S. distribution of products based on BBC properties, in addition to other licensed product. In the U.S., they are most well known for the distribution of the fantastic line of product, manufactured by Character Options in the U.K., based on the hit U.K. sci-fi series: Doctor Who. Now, it is no secret to anyone who either knows me, or has visited this website before, that I am a huge Doctor Who fan. So, I always look forward to my Toy Fair appointment with Underground. Coming off a huge year, which saw the introduction of a whole new range of product to support a brand-new Doctor, I am very curious to see what is next. I got to see quite a bit, but I can’t say much about most of it, so let’s see what I can tell you.

Doctor Who: Doctor Who is a huge license in the U.K., so the BBC is very protective and secretive when it comes to product reveals. So, I must tell you in advance that ALL of the new Doctor Who product for this year WAS at Toy Fair. However, I must also tell you that the product was shown in a LOCKED ROOM and I have been sworn to secrecy about what I saw. I can say that if you read any of the U.K. Toy Fair coverage, you know what the big initiative for Doctor Who is this year. I can also tell you that I was shown the proposed Doctor Who plush items and they are very cool. And, Finally, I can confirm that there are new 5 inch Doctor Who figures on the way to tie-in to Series 6. I can also confirm 2 very interesting playsets. That’s all I can say. Let the speculation begin. In the meantime, enjoy this gallery of current or coming soon Doctor Who product, including the Pandorica Wave, featuring the Doctor with fez, and the Chirstmas Special Set, which includes Amy in Police Uniform. There are also some great new Classic Doctor Who products.

Star Wars: Underground will produce a line of products based on the popular license. Products include plush and cell phone accessories.

Ghostbusters: Underground has also secured a license to this popular film property. Products in thsi range include an adorable Stay Puft Marshmallow Man plush, that includes a sound chip with the movie’s theme.
