TOY FAIR 2010: HASBRO: G.I. JOE

This year, G.I. Joe begins it’s transition away from the Movie line and into the next part of the story that began in the movie. Here’s what you can expect in 2010.

G.I. Joe Basic Figure Line: COBRA has risen. Now, G.I. Joe gears up for The Pursuit of Cobra. Beginning in the Fall, this will become the new theme of the basic line. This pursuit will take place over four different types of terrain: Desert, City, Jungle and Arctic. All of the figures and vehicles released beginning in the fall will apply to one of these four themes. These figures will introduce a number of changes to the look of the line. The figures will be packaged on new blister cards, which seem to be  a blend of the classic 80’s style card and the new “futuristic” movie style. Characters will retain their movie looks, though the likenesses will no longer resemble the film actors. In addition, the G.I. Joe and COBRA insignias have also been redesigned. Characters being released in this new line include: Alley Viper, Beachhead, Destro, Duke, Dusty, Firefly, Jungle Viper, Recondo, Snake Eyes, Snow Job, Storm Shadow and Zartan. All 3¾” G.I. Joe figures have an approximate retail price of $5.99
