DC Collectibles was my favorite toy company of last year. Why? Well, because when I look at all of the figures I accumulated last year, more of them were made by DC Collectibles than any other company. Aside from all of the incredible releases in their “New 52” line, including the first ever figures of Red Robin (Tim Drake) and Jason Todd’s Red Hood, DC Collectibles threw itself fully into the celebration of Batman’s 75th Anniversary. The celebration was highlighted by two major lines. The first was the DC Collectibles Designer Series, based on the designs of artist Greg Capullo for the characters’ current looks in the monthly Batman comic. There have been three series of figures, and I now consider them the “definitive” figures of those characters. But, the second is what really put DC Collectibles over the top for me, as it realized along held dream of mine. I have long adored Batman: the Animated Series, but never thought that any of the accompanying toy lines did the series proper justice. I had long hoped that eventually, someone would come along and do a 6″ line based on the iconic designs. Well, eventually became late last year, and someone became DC Collectibles. The line is one of my favorite that I have ever collected, with one series out already. Some unfortunate production issues have altered the release schedule a bit, but the reported issues are being fixed, and the line is going ahead. Which is great news,as there are some amazing figures coming down the pike. DC Collectibles has announced 5 items that will debut at Toy Fair. Here they are.
Batman: The Animated Series: Scarecrow (New Batman Adventures) Action Figure
DC Comics Super-Villains Deadshot by Jim Lee Bust
Wonder Woman: The Art of War by Robert Valley Statue
