Toy Fair 2015 Preview: Wicked Cool Toys

Wicked Cool Toys was probably the most pleasant surprise of last year’s Toy Fair. Wicked Cool lured me to their booth with the tantalzing prospect of a 31″ WWE John Cena figure. “Who would have the audacity to build that?”, I asked myself. Upon entering their booth, that question was immediately answered as a face a never thought I’d see again at Toy Fair came into view. And, suddenly, it all made sense. For the man behind Wicked Cool Toys was none other than the former VP in charge of Boys’ Brands for Jakks Pacific, Jeremy Padawer. And, as was soon apparent, Jeremy was picking right back up where he left off, by bringing back the Authentic Scale Ring. I drooled over it at last year’s Toy Fair and got my hands on one a few months later (review). But Wicked Cool wasn’t just about WWE. There was also an incredibly impressive ride on toy box called a Vrum, that came in a number of different licensed themes (FULL DISCLOSURE: My Nephew has one and it is AMAZING! It holds SO MANY little cars and figures. We took it on Summer Vacation and it was his only toy container.)

There were also novelty products and lines based on TMNT and the Wild Kratts, in addition to always controversial “Cat Paw” Don’t believe me , ask David Letterman.

As for this year, I have heard WWE rumblings featuring the words “Steel Cage”, but other than that, it’s a mystery. I can’t wait to see what Jeremy’s mind comes up with though.
