Tony’s Garage – Hot Wheels Mystery Models Mini Cooper S Challenge

The Mini performance is to be taken to new levels with the Mini John Cooper Works Challenge, a Mini Cooper S built specifically for track use and ready to race. Key characteristics of the new car include a higher top speed, increased torque, faster acceleration and optimized traction. Power enhancements are at the core of the striking Challenge car’s modifications.

Today on Tony’s Garage, were looking at the Hot Wheels Mystery Models Mini Cooper S Challenge.

Numerous chassis and suspension tweaks add to what is a finely tuned racing package. The new suspension system features adjustable damper units from KW Automotive, designed specifically for motorsport. A six-speed manual gearbox transmits power to 17” front wheels made by Borbet and shod with exclusive new racing tires manufactured by Dunlop.

Safety measures perfect the array of Mini Challenge car features. A roll cage welded firmly to the body of the car houses RECARO bucket seats combined with a six-point safety belt, along with the HANS (Head And Neck Support) system used in Formula 1 cars.

Born in 2010 in Oxford, England, A purpose-built race car, based on the R56 Hardtop, with 6-speed transmission; racing tires and an aerodynamic kit. It proves once and for all that fast things can come in small packages!

Hot Wheels acquired the license back in 2011, and it has been a top hit with fans ever since.

This time around for the 2021 Mystery Models Series 1, In a Black paint job with Red Stripes, Silver line design, “1”, “Magma Rally”,  & HW Logo. The base is black plastic, with tinted windows, with Red Rim PR5.

History on the Mystery Models were released in early November 2011 across Wal-Mart stores, These vehicles come now in foil packs, similar to trading cards, as opposed to Mystery Cars which came on blister cards with blackened out bubbles. Most of the 24 vehicles are re-colors of previous released. Now they are being split into sets of 12 cars with different themes.
