Toy Fair 2011 – Bif Bang Pow

Toy Fair coverage continues with Bif Bang Pow, a company we are covering for the first time, because they have signed a very big new license.

Doctor Who – That’s right, the big news from Bif Bang Pow is that they have signed a license to produce 8 inch “Mego-style” Doctor Who figures. The license covers both the Classic and New series. The first Doctor to be given this treatment will be the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker. Figures shown at Toy Fair were the Fourth Doctor, a Cyberleader, The Master and a Sontaran, in addition to a TARDIS, with light and sound. The company has also said that it will be producing supplemental items other than the figures. The likenesses are excellent and the accessories are all appropriate to the characters. This could be an exciting new line. Figures in this scale have never existed in the U.S. before and they seem to remind people of the Dennys figures produced in the 70’s and 80’s in Britain. More information on this line will be forthcoming.
