The release of WWE ’12 is growing closer, and our countdown continues.

Today, we look at the two most high profile Superstar announcements made for this game: Brock Lesnar and The Rock.

7 Days to WWE ’12: Day 4: The Rock and Brock Connection

Arguably the two highest profile Superstar announcements for the game were those concerning Brock Lesnar and the Rock. Here is a closer look at each of their appearances in WWE ’12.

Brock Lesnar: The “Next Big Thing” returns to a WWE ring for the first time in years. Brock sports his current look from UFC. His apppearance in the game was permitted by UFC President Dana White. His appearance will allow for several unique matches featuring Superstars not present during his initial run in WWE.

The Rock: With his WrestleMania showdown with John Cena looming, it was a foregone conclusion that the Rock would play a huge role in WWE ’12. Though, I don’t think anyone knew just how huge. Here is the lowdown on the role of the “People’s Champion” in WWE ’12.

The Rock will be available as a pre-order incentive. Here are the details.

Often touted as “the most electrifying man in all of entertainment,” legendary WWE Superstar The Rock will be available as a playable character for consumers who pre-order the game at any participating retailer within the United States or Canada for the Xbox® 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft or PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (while supplies last). The Rock’s in-game character will resemble his current-day appearance, including a shaved head and new tattoos.

In addition, adding to the rivalry between them, the Rock handily won a fan vote over John Cena to become the star of the collector’s edition, now dubbed “The People’s Edition.” here is the press release.
